BIXOLON Co. Ltd., a global manufacturer of POS receipt, mobile and barcode label printers, has announced its new thermal transfer/ direct thermal desktop label printer, the SLP-TX420.

The Energy Star certified SLP-TX420 features a 74m printing ribbon and print speeds of up to 7ips (178 mm/sec), 17% faster than comparable models found in the market. The increased speed is a key factor to increase effectiveness in the work place.

The SLP-TX420 is compatible with Mac-based PCs, Android-based tablet PCs, Windows, or LINUX. This model also supports USB dongle-typed WLAN wireless communication as well as basic wired communication. With the recent surge of smart devices in the printing industry, BIXOLON’s versatile SLP-TX420 is certain to please its users. The overall design and use of the printer is made with convenience and ease for users at the forefront. Operators can easily remove and replace consumables, as well as easily adjust the label guide to accommodate different label sizes.

In addition, BIXOLON’s newest label printer is equipped with user-friendly functions such as Smart Media Detection, which distinguishes the type of label and length of paper (gap, black mark, continuous forms, etc.) and implements printing work automatically. Additional features include the auto-recognition of the major programming languages such as ZPL and EPL and output function. The SLP-TX420 also includes BIXOLON’s complimentary label design program, ‘Label Artist’, which can retrieve and print out databases prepared in a file format of Excel, Text or Access.

Although manufactured with a compact design, the SLP-TX420 is intended for high-frequency printing with the improved durability of major printing components. In addition, its data processing speed is increased due to the quality of the high-capacity memory (64MB SDRAM, 128MB FlashROM) and is capable of printing labels for an extended period of time with the exterior long-length paper using an optional accessory.
